Concordia College - Year 3

On Wednesday 10 April, our two Concordia Primary Campuses (St John’s and St Peters) students will join together for a “Walk my Way” walkathon event.

Our ELC, year 1 and year 2 students will be walking laps of the Highgate campus college oval… and our year 3, year 4, year 5 and year 6 students will be walking from our Highgate campus to the Waite Reserve and walking laps of a set trail.

This the first time we are involving all of our Primary students in this event.

We aim to raise close to $20 000 as our part of the overall College goal of $36 400. Please support us this year as we walk to bring education and opportunity to children worldwide.

Why are we walking?

This year we are walking so that refugee children in East Africa can step into education. Sadly, thousands of children arrive in refugee camps in East Africa every year, fleeing conflict and disaster. We can help by supporting them to access education while they’re in the refugee camps. Education is a powerful way to change the future for refugee children and it is a gift that cannot be taken away.

The Walk My Way initiative was launched by ALWS (Australian Lutheran World Service), the Lutheran church’s aid and development agency, in 2019 and has helped 62,500 refugee children access education.  

How much does it cost?

There is no cost for students to participate in the walk but we encourage every student to collect sponsorship to support their fellow students overseas. Feel free to share the fundraising link with your family and friends and get them to support you too!
